Versacats are, as their name implies, indeed very versatile catamarans. Available in U.S.Coast Guard certified 34' x 20'(40 passenger) and 40' x24'(49 passenger) versions (our 30'can also be USCG certified), the Versacat is the ideal platform for eco-tours, excursions, dive and snorkel trips, short-haul ferry operations, and other commercial applications. The beamy Versacat offers unparalleled deck space for its length. This space allows for a myriad of different configurations. The Versacat designs were engineered to be the perfect compromise between performance and load carrying capability, and they fully capitalize on the inherent advantages of catamaran technology. The extra wide stance of the Versacat's symmetrical sponsons makes them uncannily stable, and they are amazingly quick given their meager power requirements. The recommended power plants are twin 90's and twin 130's for the 34' and 40' respectively; with this power a Versacat can cruise at a respectable 18-20 knots. The rakish Versacat hulls knife through chop making the ride smooth and comfortable while giving passengers the sensation of gliding above the wave tops.

Instead of using the heavy, expensive, and foul smelling diesel engines that most commercial boats use, Versacats typically rely on small outboards; this benefits operators since these minimal power requirements make the Versacat an extremely economical boat to run (see fuel comparison). The use of outboards also allows a Versacat to operate in skinny water and enables it to be beached with ease. Furthermore, the use of small outboards facilitates easy servicing of the engines and keeps replacement costs to a minimum.
